For information on our pups, please email us about your wants and needs. Tell us if your pup will be strictly a pet or hunted or used for competition. If you are looking for a competitive performance golden - that is our specialty. We produce goldens that want to work. They are intelligent, willing, retrievers that will do a days hunt and then be happy household pets.
We sometimes have ADULT goldens that we put into loving homes with people that have them as family members and pets. Most of these families include children and other household pets. We control the breeding rights to these golden girls and market the pups.
Recent Quote from Some of our Buyers
"I CANT TELL YOU HOW MUCH I ENJOY GETTING THE UPDATES ON THE PUPS.
I FORWARD ALL OF THEM TO MY DAUGHTER, SO SHE CAN SHOW THEM TO THE GRANDCHILDREN.
I TELL PEOPLE AT WORK ABOUT THIS AND THEY CAN'T BELIEVE IT. THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS.
I TELL THEM THAT I AM DEALING WITH THE BEST GOLDEN RETRIEVER BREEDER IN THE COUNTRY. MY HUNTING BUDDIES WILL ATTEST TO THE DOGS THAT I HAVE GOTTEN
FROM YOU SINCE 1986. THIS WILL BE MY FOURTH DOG FROM TOPBRASS. THEY HAVE NEVER LET
ME DOWN IN THEIR ABILITY TO FIND AND RETRIEVE BIRDS AND DUCKS. I AM SO LOOKING FORWARD
TO MY NEW TOPBRASS PUP."
"I am sure you receive many progress reports about your pups, I wanted you to know how well "Harley" is doing and how much he is enjoying life with my wife and I, and his two new best friends Riot and Scooter.
In addition to working on upland birds in the field he is also doing water retrieves. He has a terrific nose and exceptional drive. I am already shooting over him. In addition to his field work he is a wonderful companion and full of affection. He is so friendly to everyone he meets. We are very pleased with our little Golden!"

Topbrass pups are raised with the idea of them being Useful Performance or Working Adult goldens. We raise each litter as though each pup will be the next field Champion, Great Hunting Companion, OTCH, Search and Rescue Hero, SERVICE DOG, DOCK DIVING DOG or MACH. And guess what, they may very well be.
At 3 days of age we start the stimulation exercises you can see Clara doing in the video below. We continue Daily Handling exercises individually with each pup. With larger litters we also supplement with daily bottle feeding.
It is very important to trim toenails weekly. This makes it easier on mom and helps the pups get used to their feet being touched. We try to raise pups that are wired to learn almost from birth.
